Zion's Back!

Monday Quick Hits

INJURIES and RETURNEES
  • Zion Williamson returned with a full line. I'd give it a couple of weeks hopefully of good, healthy play and try to sell hard.

  • Bones Hyland followed the Myles Turner script, getting injured during warm-ups. Don't know how bad, but he's a safe drop.

  • Jalen Duren also had an ankle injury, if you can stash in IL+, keep him, but if not, drop for now.

  • Josh Richardson has some soreness and with Devin Vassell returning soon, could lose some value. But he could still have a bigger role as Blake Wesley got hurt today and Josh Primo's out already. I'd put in IL+ and see how the rotation will be.

  • Illness bug going around the league- Jeremy Sochan out today, try to hold if possible, Joel Embiid out tomorrow.

GAME NOTES
  • Clips reeling right now and PG's not helping much. He's at 38% FG, 25% 3PTS, with 7 total steals for the season. With games against HOU, HOU, SAS, UTAH, it might just be what he needs to get going.

  • Norm Powell's starting to heat up, make sure he's not in your wires and aside from Ivica Zubac, there's no one else worth a standard league hold right now.

  • Naji Marshall should get as much love as Trey Murphy with the way he's playing. Sadly, Ingram's returning soon, so if you are thinking about adding, might be late to the party.

  • Trey Murphy's ownership continues to rise and for good reasons. Dude is balling- 3.2 3PTM on 53% FG and 1.2 SPG.

  • Blowout loss for Wizards and everybody stunk. Beal's had good games but couldn't find his shot, he's going to be better. I'll attribute the rest of the stats to just a bad game by the team overall.

  • Similarly, the Cs players all got limited run with the lopsided nature of the game. Nothing to get from this, except maybe Brogdon's feels healthy enough to score 23 points.

  • Randle's struggled with inefficiencies after a strong start- he's at 111th in 9CAT rankings right now but should edge up to the top 100. Tough to own if your team can't take the FG/FT/TO hits.

  • RJ Barrett's doing a Randle too, shooting 37% FG and has 2 TOTAL stocks this season. That's why I don't draft this guy ever.

  • Donovan's been a beast this season. Sell high if you can but I think the Garland effect on him won't be as bad as we think. He'll be in the top 30 this year.

  • Evan Mobley's start has been slow but he's legit Buy Low. He's been playing well but it hasn't shown on the boxscores. It'll come and now is the chance to get him for cheaper.

  • Shoutout to you if you had KLove as your streamer today. You deserve a pat in the back. But I'm not chasing this nor Dean Wade's line- like Levert the last time out, it's not sustainable.

  • Klay rested so Poole went bonkers. Poole needs Klay gone to get to his top 50 upside. If not, he's going to average out in the 80s-90s range

  • Steph had a trip to the locker room with a neck issue but returned. Just something to monitor- he's been great so far this season.

  • Moses Moody probably getting enough minutes for 16T leagues and up or a streamer in other shallower leagues. Wiggins struggled but he'll bounce back, not worried while Dray's doing an old man version of his stats- so somewhat like Mason Plumlee with a louder bark.

  • Cade has put the Ivey effect to rest so far, let's just hope he keeps this up. Buy Low window is totally gone. Bojan continues to be hot with new contract in tow- still a sell high.

  • Saddiq Bey is a guy I'd try to shop after every good game. Overall, his stats are as empty as Bojan's and RJ Barrett's. Just 3s, points and nothing else.

  • Safe to say, KAT's found his groove, rebounding numbers are going up and the 5.3APG are nice. Ant Edwards continues to do a Jekyll and Hyde, alternating good and bad games, sort of a buy low for now.

  • Jaden McDaniels may not score well every game but as long as he is starting and getting 35 minutes, he'll get the stocks which is why we drafted him. Slomo's return didn't affect him one bit.

  • Jaylen Nowell cooled off, should be a drop now.

  • Pop's just showing off now- winning with players dropping like flies. I'd add Pop if I can in fantasy but outside of the usual suspects, there are no new adds here- but monitor Malaki Branham's role if it gets bigger with all the injuries.

  • Luka's good. Really Good. Every game he's just carrying the Mavs on his shoulders. FTs have started to taper off- but that's just nitpicking right now. He's fantasy gold regardless.

  • Rest of Mavs scraping the barrel with Luka getting 41% usage a game this season. Worried for Christian Wood whose minutes and role have gone down the past few games.

  • Banchero's streak is over but he's still okay. Bol Bol's going to be fun this year. Even when they get healthy, it's tough not to see him continue to get those rebounds and blocks the rest of the year

  • JaeSean Tate getting 30 minutes to Tari Eason's 11 on a night with no Eric Gordon is all you need to know about holding Eason or not.

  • Jabari Smith played but didn't do much. He's a massive buy low guy if you are punting FGs. Rockets are going to give him a bigger role down the line so now's the time to pounce on him

  • Bismack started but had a triple 5-PTS/REBS/BLKS- those blocks saved the line while Jock Landale played great. As I predicted, it's a time share. Biyombo's still worth holding for those blocks I think.

  • Lakers WIN!!! AD seemed to tweak something again in the end but played through it, he's going to be GTD every game it seems. Good RWB game, but don't think he can be consistent.

  • Jokic slow start- for his standards continue- now Denver's got a 2 game week coming up, tough stretch for owners. Is he suddenly a little buy low? Jamal certainly is. He was better today, but I think he still has another gear to get to.
